A Walk Through the Liturgy:

A Ten Part Series for the University of Dayton

Fr. Pete Jankowski, MDiv, STL and DRE Julie Dillenburg offer these ten episodes as part of a Foundations of Liturgy Course he was asked to facilitate for the University of Dayton. Currently, Fr. Pete teaches theology courses at both the University of St. Francis and the University of Dayton. Here is the posted biography he offers for these courses...

Ordained as a priest of the Joliet Diocese in 1996, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy at the Catholic University of America (Washington, DC) and my Master’s Degree in Divinity and Licentiate in Sacred Theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake (Mundelein, IL). I have celebrated the sacraments in all seven counties of the Joliet Diocese, both for the sake of our English and Spanish speaking communities. From 2006-2018, I served as pastor of St. Patrick’s Church (Joliet, IL). I also have served as a chaplain at Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, celebrating Masses for the inmates at the maximum-security prison.

Currently, I live at St. Anne’s Church in St. Anne, IL (where the National Shrine to our Blessed Mother’s mother is located). I serve three parishes in the area, where some of the poorest folks in Illinois (and a large Hispanic Ministry) are located, with my trusty pain in the neck dog Gabby at my side (she’s a sixty-pound Basset Hound and she’s all trouble). In addition to my official duties as a priest, I also enjoy writing children’s music and spending time with my family.

At the University of St. Francis in Joliet, I currently serve as an Adjunct Professor who has taught the Introduction to TheologyCourse as well as the Introduction to the Old Testament, Introduction to the New Testament, Christianity in the Modern World and Ethics in the Workplace. This school year, I have been asked to teach a course in World Religions, Death & Dying, The Old Testamentand The New Testament.
